Kristen Castner

While growing up in Westchester, New York, I decided early on that teaching was a career I did not want to pursue. Despite teaching at VBS and being active in my youth group for many years, I stubbornly ignored the Lord’s leading on my life and the skillset He provided me with in relation to students and the classroom. When I first attended Cairn University in the fall of 2014, I finally relinquished the plan I had for my life and decided to pursue teaching, realizing it was a career I was strongly drawn to. Safe to say, following God’s plan was much better than mine! It was at Cairn where I realized my God-given passion for teaching, nurturing students and their understanding of English, and guiding students toward a deeper relationship with God. After graduating with a B.S. in both English and Bible, the Lord led me to QCS—and I am so excited! I am looking forward to the relationships I will build at QCS, and the community I will become a part of. Outside of teaching, I enjoy spending time with my family and close friends, reading and collecting various books from thrift stores, going to the movies, and eating gluten-free cookies. A few verses I draw strength from are John 3:30, Romans 12:2, and Isaiah 26:3.

 Nancy Deputy

Blessed is she who believes in the promises of the Lord – Luke 1:45
God placed the promise of being a teacher in my heart when I was just a child. However, it took many years for the promise to become reality. I entered Bucks County Community College when my youngest child began high school. I then attended DeSales University to finish my degree in Elementary Education. I was finally able to teach! But God’s blessings continued and I was led to Cabrini College for my graduate work and a Reading Specialist certificate. It was a long journey, but God provided for every need! Before attending school, my husband, Mark, and I raised three children. We have since been blessed with nine grandchildren (and counting)! I attend Springfield Mennonite Church and enjoy participating in its outreach programs. A verse that I find comforting and uplifting is Deuteronomy 31:8 – “The Lord is the one who will go before you. He will be with you; he will not leave you or abandon you. Do not be afraid or discouraged.”

Lauren Ditzler

My name is Lauren Ditzler and I am the Admissions Director. This is my first year at QCS and I am very excited that God led me to this great school. I have a BS in Early Childhood Education and have been in the classroom teaching for the last 8 years. I am looking forward to this new role out of the classroom, but still serving in a Christian School environment. My husband and I live in Souderton and we attend Calvary Church in Souderton. I enjoy spending time with family, traveling, baking, and playing my flute and piccolo in the Quakertown Community band. Working with and around children in Christian ministry is my passion and I am excited to see where God leads me as I begin my ministry here at QCS.

Sheryl Duerksen

Sheryl Duerksen, 3rd Grade, has completed over 26 years at QCS. My husband Rick and I have two adult sons that live in Souderton, PA & Wichita, KS. We are members of Zion Mennonite Church in Souderton, PA and we love to travel. I am very thankful for QCS and a vocation that combines my love of education and Christian ministry. I give thanks for the role that service and ministry play in my daily life; praising God as David did in I Chronicles 16:8 & 9 “Give thanks to the Lord, call on His name; make known among the nations what He has done.  Sing to Him, sing praise to Him; tell of all His wonderful acts.”

Jeanette Dunlap

I knew from an early age that God had placed within my heart a passion for teaching. As a teenager I was actively involved in Child Evangelism Fellowship teaching young children the gospel of Christ. I graduated from Columbia International University (South Carolina) with a double major in Bible and Elementary Education. I received my Master’s Degree in Education from Arcadia University. Over the past thirty plus years, I have been honored to use the passion God has given me to teach both adults and children. I love to see “light bulb” moments when learning a concept has taken hold in a learner.
I cherish the time I get to spend with my three adult children. In my spare time you might find me catering a wedding, making a special meal for my family, and/or reading. I am involved and worship with the family of God at Christ Community Bible Church, Perkasie.
It is a privilege to teach at QCS where I can guide and challenge my students and myself academically and spiritually within the framework of God’s Word.

 David Dwyer

Dave is the middle school social studies teacher at Quakertown Christian School. He loves instigating thoughtful conversations about politics, society, current events, theology, and of course history. In 2013, he graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Bible and in Master’s Degree in Education from Cairn University. For two years, he digitally produced the online curriculum for the Degree Completion and Master’s in Religion programs at Cairn University. However, he felt called back to the classroom in order to pursue his passion for teaching. Dave attends Addisville Reformed Church where he helps with the youth group and Sunday school. He believes that the first step to becoming a good teacher is becoming a good learner, so he hopes to continue his graduate education in the study of history.

Life verse: “Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one. You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your might.” Deuteronomy 6:4-5

Sherry Frederick

Hello! My name is Sherry Frederick and I have worked in various positions at QCS. I have taught at the preschool and I have taught kindergarten.  I have my Early Childhood degree from West Chester University.  I am the oldest of 4, and from a very young age, I knew I wanted to teach.  I enjoy all ages, but I especially love the enthusiasm that the elementary students bring to the classroom.  Their joy and excitement makes coming to work fun!  In my spare time, I enjoy reading, being outdoors with my family and attending church at Finland Mennonite.

Tom Greco

Hi my name is Thomas Greco and I am the Art teacher for grades K – 12. I served as the art teacher at Christian Heritage School in Trumbull, Connecticut for 11 years. I am currently the Pastor of Bread of Life Church in Quakertown. I love to shoot Photography and of course a little drawing and painting. I have a wife and two wonderful children.  It is the Lord that brought me here. I was driving along telling the Lord I missed drawing, painting, and teaching art. Only one hour later I got a call from QCSasking me if I would be interested in being the art teacher. Only God could do that! I am blessed to be here serving children.

Timothy Gray

Having spent 10 years as an Administrative and Youth Pastor in Jackson Hole, Mr. Gray enjoys an eclectic range of hobbies including (but not limited to) paddle boarding, mountain biking, leatherwork, reading, and wrenching on vehicles. He has a BA in Corporate Communications from Penn State, A Diploma in Biblical Foundations from Jackson Hole Bible College, a MA in Organizational Leadership focusing on Education Administration from Regent University and is finishing his Dissertation for his Doctorate in Business Administration from George Fox University. He is an Ordained Reverend through International Ministerial Fellowship.

Stephanie Greene

Stephanie brings with her over a decade of teaching experience to QCS.  Until joining the high school team, she enjoyed homeschooling her four children.  The excitement of guiding students in their learning and helping them succeed is what led her to pursue a career serving students in a school setting.  One of the best parts of her role in working with high school students is the unique privilege of walking alongside them from year to year – seeing friendships grow, experiencing life changing opportunities with them and watching their hearts and minds bloom into amazing young adults! Stephanie and her husband have 4 children. In her spare time she enjoys writing, drawing, and creative projects.

Ken Herr

I came to QCS after a successful career at Air Products in Allentown.  Much of my career was involved in designing, building and operating television studios.  I am still involved in the television industry as a Manager for the Society of Motion Picture and Television Engineers.  As my career progressed, I transitioned into the Information Technology field focusing on new media technologies.  I came to QCS in 2012 and have focused on helping advance the integration of Instructional Technology into the classroom and processes to make our technologies more reliable.  I have two therapy dogs who make frequent visits to hospitals, nursing homes and schools.  I also train and compete one of the dogs in canine agility.  I attended University of Central Arkansas as a Speech and Theatre major with a Music/Special Education minor.  I attend Community Baptist Church where I frequently sing and work with technology.  My life verse is Ephesians 2:8-9 “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.”

Steven High

Steve has worked for more than a decade with teenage students: serving as a Youth Pastor and teaching Math and Bible.  I obtained my BA degree from Grove City College and my Master’s of Divinity from Biblical Seminary. God has instilled in me a passion to help young people navigate the often difficult teenage years of their lives. With a shepherd’s heart, I seek to come alongside of students and lead them to the One who can give them living water to quench their deepest thirsts. After several years of working in a church setting, I realized how much I missed the classroom environment, where I get more time with my students. In addition to greeting students with smiles, high fives and words of encouragement and blessing I love seeing or hearing a student “get it.” There is nothing that matches the feeling I get when “the lights turn on” for a student (spiritually, academically, relationally, etc.)

I am married to Tricia and have 2 sons, who are both QCS students. I love to play my guitar and lead worship. I also enjoy playing sports, including disc golf, volleyball, street hockey and Spartan Races.

Favorite quote: “My deepest awareness of myself is that I am deeply loved by Jesus Christ and I have done nothing to earn it or deserve it.” ~Brennan Manning

Seth Hogan
Caleb Kiefer

I graduated from Lock Haven University with my Bachelors in Health and P.E. I enjoy being a P.E. teacher because being fit is more than just about our physical state. Paul wrote in Corinthians “Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your bodies” Being active and staying healthy is just one of the ways I can honor God. I love to give opportunities for young people to honor God in that way. Some passions other than teaching are outdoor activities like hunting, running, Mtn. Biking and canoeing. My wife and I are also youth leaders at Finland Mennonite Church, where we attend. I am thankful for so many chances to share my faith and I am excited about what is happening at QCS!!

Amy Mellinger

Amy graduated from Christopher Dock and works as a Food Services Assistant at QCS. She previously worked as an Instructional Assistant at the Bucks County Intermediate Unit for 6 years. She and her husband Kristopher have 4 children and attend Rocky Ridge Mennonite Church. She enjoys cooking and baking and the fast pace of working in the school kitchen creating yummy, healthy meals for our students! On the weekend Amy decorates cakes at Landis Markets. Amy loves working for QCS because of the comradery and the close-knit family that is QCS faculty, staff, and students.

Diane Moyer

I love the variety that working in a school setting brings to my position.  To be able to live out my faith while serving the QCS Community is truly a privilege and a blessing. When not at school I enjoy spending time with my family, which includes six grandchildren; traveling, reading, and gardening.  I am a member of Calvary Bible Fellowship Church in Coopersburg.  My favorite Bible verse is Proverbs 3:5-6.

Alexandra Nathan

Miss Nathan is the middle and high school math teacher at QCS. She graduated from Cairn University, where she earned a B.S. in Secondary Mathematics Education, as well as two minors in Bible and Applied Mathematics. Miss Nathan is passionate about seeing each student grow as a lifelong learner, develop a stronger understanding of math, and most importantly, mature in his/her relationship with God. A few things she enjoys include: spending time with her family and friends, going to the beach, helping as a leader at her youth group, and doing a variety of outdoor activities. One of her favorite verses is Proverbs 3:5-6. As she begins at QCS, Miss Nathan is looking forward to seeing how the Lord will continue to challenge, equip, and bless her through this new and exciting experience.

Natalie Oskowitz

Natalie Oskowitz has a Bachelors in Business Administration from Gwynedd Mercy College and an Associate’s Degree in Criminal Justice from Montgomery County Community College. She and her husband live in Souderton with their 3 children Nikolas, Jake, and Lilly. Natalie worships and serves at Calvary Church in Souderton. She enjoys spending time with her family, gardening, and cooking. Natalie feels as though she is best serving God at QCS Preschool as she is working in a learning environment where the common goal is enriching the lives of children academically, emotionally, and spiritually.

Jennifer Rhodes

I recently graduated from Cairn University with a bachelor’s degree in elementary education and with a certification in special education. My husband and I live in Souderton and attend Grace Mennonite Church in Lansdale where we serve as youth leaders for the high school youth group. In my free time I like to bake, read, go mini golfing, and spend time with my family, especially my two nephews! I am excited to see what the Lord has in store for me this year at QCS and teaching the students in my 2nd grade class.

Donna Rosenbaum

My name is Donna Rosenbaum and I come to QCS with excitement and faithfulness for a new career and all the joyous opportunities I will have the pleasure of encountering. My previous career was administrative in the medical field. It was time for a change and after a lot of prayer and reflection it has been the best move for me. I am the Mom(stepmom) of 5 great kids. Mostly all grown and some with kids of their own. My husband and I live in Telford and attend Leidy’s Church in Souderton. I love spending time with family, reading, cross stitching and baking. I feel blessed to be part of this new chapter.

Malinda Singleton

Anita Souder

Anita has been a long time member of the QCS family. First as a student and culminating her experience in the classroom. Her love for youth began on the hockey field, flowed into athletics where she learned the best part of the job was the mentoring relationship with students which is now an everyday blessing. She and her husband Brent are the parents of Paige & Grant, both attendees of QCS. She enjoys cooking, reading, sewing, the outdoors and spending time with her family in the mountains. She is a member of Souderton Mennonite Church. Anita holds an AS in physical therapy and worked at GVH prior to QCS. Philippians 4:13 has been a meaningful verse throughout her life.

Jeanne Stenson

I have taught kindergarten and second grade here at QCS, and I taught the three year olds for 12 years at our preschool.  I have enjoyed teaching the different grades, and working at both campuses.  I have three children who all attended QCS for many years.  The best part of my job is seeing the differences and maturity in the children from the beginning of the year to the end of the year.  I am a member of Springfield Mennonite Church and I enjoy reading, knitting, and walking my dog.

Chrissy Stradling

It was in High School that I first felt the Lord calling me to serve Him in full time Christian service. I also knew that He was calling me to be a teacher and this led me to seek a degree in Special Education with Elementary Education. The best part of my job is the joy that I see on my student’s faces each day as they learn and grow. My family and I attend Christ Community Bible Church and together we enjoy travelling to historical locations. I love the words of Micah 6:8, “And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God.

Melissa Swartley

I’m Missy Swartley and I teach Spanish to each class at QCS.  I have a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish as well as a Teaching Certification from Kutztown University.  My hobbies include traveling, taking walks, and spending time with  family and friends.  I love teaching at QCS because of the wonderful Christian environment!  My favorite Bible verse is Proverbs 3: 5-6.

Carole Waterman

I am PA Elementary and Special Education Certified, have my Master’s Degree, and am a retired public school educator. I chose teaching not only for the enjoyment of working with students, but I wanted to present/teach concepts in a multi-faceted way, allowing all learners to be the best they can be as individuals. As a private school teacher, I can incorporate God’s love for all people into the profession of teaching. The best part of my job is when I see how students change and grow because they feel safe, loved, and confident in whatever it is they are doing. Building confidence in each student is critical. I am married 31 years to my husband Wayne; have 2 adult children Rachel and Russel who are both 8th grade graduates of QCS; and I love the outdoors. I enjoy camping, gardening, drawing, and reading–outside if possible. I am a member of East Swamp Church in Quakertown, and assist in the “East Swamp Kids” programs. I attempt to live my life by Philippians 4:4-7 – “Rejoice in the Lord always. Again I will say, rejoice! Let your gentleness be known to all men. The Lord is at hand. Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus,”

Chayah Wilbers

I love watching kids grow academically and spiritually. QCS has always had a special place in my family. My husband is an alumni (2004) along with all of his siblings. We have been a part of QCS for many years, and when the opportunity arose, I knew that this was the place God wanted me to be! Watching the “lightbulb” come on for students. I love it when they “get” something! It’s great seeing their face light up and their confidence skyrocket! I love to read and relax in God’s nature. I live in Quakertown with my husband Eric. We enjoy going hiking and visiting historical sites. “When I consider your heavens, the work of your fingers, the moon and the stars, which you have set in place, what is man that you are mindful of him, that you care for him?” Psalms 8:3-4
